| God wants all of us to have peace and everlasting life.. Romans 5:1 "We have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ." John 10:10 "I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." So, if that's what God wants, why isn't it automatically that way? Well, God made us in His own image and he gave us a free will to do as we choose. Many of us choose to disobey God and just do our own thing. That separates us from God. If you have went your own way without God in your life, you are not alone. Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Many of us try in different ways to get to God. We try to do "good deeds" or be nice to people. Proverbs 14:12 "There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death." But, there is only one way for us to get to God. That is through His son Jesus Christ. 1 Timothy 2:5 "For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Jesus Christ." Romans 5:8 "But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners Christ died for us." God has provided us with the only way to reach him. We must trust Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior and ask Him into our life. Revelation 3:20 "Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me." Romans 10:9 "That if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." So, what do you have to do to be saved? Talk to the Lord through prayer and- ADMIT you are a sinner. BE WILLING to repent-turn from you sins. BELIEVE that Jesus Christ died for you on the cross and rose again from the grave. INVITE Jesus Christ into your life and to control your life through the Holy Spirit. If you do this and are sincere about it, you will be saved and have the promise of an eternal home in heaven. Romans 10:13 "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." Here are some things you can do to deepen your relationship with Jesus Christ- READ your Bible everyday so that you can know Jesus better. TALK to Him everyday through your prayers. TELL other people about Jesus and what he has done for you. WORSHIP the Lord and fellowship with other believers in church. SHOW your concern and love for others in need. You are a representative of Jesus Christ. |
