| Pastor Mary Ann Holbrook has been in ministry in the United Methodist Church since 1985 when she began as a lay speaker. In 1993 the Chesapeake United Methodist Church recommended her for entrance into ministry as a pastor. She entered the Course of Study and completed these studies. Her last appointment before Dawes United Methodist Church was the Diamond United Methodist Church. She also pastored at Valley Grove United Methodist Church and Rand United Methodist Church. She also completed several courses of study at the University of Charleston Lay Academy. Pastor Holbrook was born in Charleston, WV and has been a resident of Hernshaw, WV since 1990. She is an accountant and was Chief Financial Officer and computer programmer for a telecommunications company until her retirement in 1995. Pastor Holbrook has one daughter, Sandra Boggess (husband Doyle) and one grandson J.D., who is 2 1/2 years old. They live in Charleston, WV. Pastor Holbrook enjoys spending time with her family and especially her grandson. Ministry is a calling and a blessing in her life from God and she enjoys her work very much. |
